Harman Pushes Lossless 4K Video Over Ethernet

Harman Pro launches the NMX-ENC-N2151 4K Encoder and NMX-DEC-N2251 4K Decoder at ISE 2016-- a solution the company says transports lossless 4K/UHD video over standard 1Gbps networks and 10-40Gbps fibre uplinks.

The solution is similar to the rest of the AMX SVSI N2000 series, but is can handle video resolutions up to 4096x2160. According to AMX, JPEG 2000 compression allows the switching and distribution of 4K video over standard gigabit ethernet networks, with the NMX-ENC-N2151 encoder simultaneously providing video signals as a JPEG 2000-compressed 200-600Mbps stream (through RJ-45 connector) and an uncompressed stream (via SFP+ connector).
