HP announces a trio of unified communications (UC) services-- Voice Transformation, Virtual Workplace and Network Readiness in collaboration with Microsoft, Avaya, Polycom and Alcatel-Lucent. 

HP Voice Transformation solutions create a single channel for voice, data and video, thus simplifying collaboration between VoIP and traditional telephony. More Device Support for Avaya

Avaya expands the range of devices its one-X soft client supports-- now including Android, iPhones (3G and 4) and Blackberry devices in addition to Symbian and Windows devices. 

A one-X version now also supports Mac OS, together with a new SIP client for iOS devices (enabling UC and voice over wireless or cellular networks). 

The software unifies call logs, contact lists and voice messages across all endpoints and software clients, and also handles team member presence status across Avaya endpoints, soft clients and mobile devices.

Polycom Acquires HP's VC Business

Polycom buys HP's visual collaboration assets-- including its Halo products and managed services business-- as part of a "broad strategic alliance". 

This alliance will involve Polycom's providing software technology and UC infrastructure expertise while HP provides its knowledge of UC solution go-to-market strategies.

HP will be reselling Polycom UC solutions, including personal and group UC devices, infrastructure, managed services and audio/video software. Polycom video application will also find a new home on HP's WebOS platform.
