AVIXA Cancels InfoComm 2020

The coronavirus (aka Covid-19) pandemic leads to the cancellation of another trade event as AVIXA announces InfoComm 2020, set to take place in Las Vegas on 13-19 June, will no longer take place.

Initially the organisers were optimistic the show could go on, but following recommendations from the WHO and CDDC, not to mention the extreme circumstances and the size of the show, they decided not proceeding was the best choice.

Computex Postponed Due to Coronavirus

Many events all across the world are being postponed or outright cancelled due to the coronavirus (aka Covid-19), and Computex is no exception, as the 2020 edition of the Taipei show has been rescheduled for September 2020.

Originally set to take place on 2-6 June, Computex 2020 is now set to take place on 28-30 September. As for the choice of dates, organisers Taitra say that, according to a perhaps overly hopeful McKinsey epidemic report, the pandemic should be under control by Q2 2020 in East Asia, before the situation slows down in Europe and the US by June.

ISE Bids Amsterdam

It is the end of an era-- 14 February 2020, Valetine's Day, was the final day of ISE at the RAI Amsterdam, a 15-year stay brought to an end with a special ¡Hola Barcelona! event bringing together politicians, executives and attendees in a salute to the RAI and the city of Amsterdam.

ISE 2020 was somewhat subdued compared to previous years. After all, it was held against a backdrop of international health crisis with the coronavirus (aka Covid-19), not to mention the impact of Storm Ciara on air travel across Europe. According to the organisers, unique ISE 2020 attendees total 52128, down from 81268 in 2019, while the cumulative total of visits (including repeat visits by individuals on subsequent days) totals 116599. A reduced ISE was a considerably better fate than the cancellation that confronted other shows such as Mobile World Congress.

GSMA Cancels MWC 2020 Due to Coronavirus!

Global worries involving the coronavirus-- aka Covid 19-- not to mention travel concerns and "other circumstances" lead to the cancellation of MWC 2020, the largest mobile trade show in the world.

Originally taking place on 24-27 February 2020, the show attracts over 100000 attendees from 200 countries to Barcelona. Previously the organisers sent a lengthy coronavirus-related email to registered attendees stating it was going to ban travelers from China's Hubei province. It also had plans for temperature screenings, while visitors who have been in China would have to demonstrate proof they have been outside of China for 14 days.
