VARs' Strong European Q4 2010

Longbow Research says European VARs should be happy with the last quarter-- with December 2010 hardware sales exceeding budgets for 46% of its conacts. 

The entire quarter was particularly strong, with 58% of Longbow's contacts exceeding their budgets (the rest met their sales budgets). The sales average sequential increase for Q4 2010 is at 20-25%.

Adder InfinityAdder announces its Infinity network DVI extender-- promising to let one to build previously impossible networks.

The company says the extender allows for computers to be located anywhere, as well as share connections and control, monitor computer use, collaborate and switch computers. 

It is also Adder's first device to allow multicasting across a network. 

The Infinity uses USB 2.0 to connect all HIDs, as well as storage and other USB devices.

Intel Powers Terastation's New Generation

Buffalo announces its Terastation Pro line of network storage solutions-- building on the previous Terasation lineup. 

The Pro line carries Intel Atom D510 dual-core processors with Buffalo's SMB software suite and business class features. 

Features include Active Directory support, disk quota support, data replication with device failover, dual gigabit ethernet ports, hot-swap HDDs and x10 NovaBackup Business Essentials licenses. 

The line's x5 models are also scalable up to 24TB and ship in RAID 6 (with support RAID 0/1/5/10 as well).

Data Through Flickering Office Lights

LVX System relieves wireless congestion through what's normally thought of as a nuisance-- flickering ceiling lights. 

LED clusters in a ceiling light fixture transmit messages by flickering faster than the eye can see. Special modems "read" the messages and flicker messages back to the fixture's sensor-- connecting a computer to the internet. 

The system's first generation transmits data at around 3 Mbps.
