Motion announces its CL900-- an enterprise tablet for productivity and business integration. 

The device runs Windows 7 on an enchanced Intel Atom processor-- "Oak Trail". Its screen allows dual touch and stylus input, and it a SSD (30/62GB) and up to 2GB RAM. 

Connectivity comes through an optional integrated Gobi 3000 mobile broadband (GPS, 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN, bluetooth) and wireless SIM port.

Operators should reach peak data rates of over 650 Mbps by 2013 through T-Mobile and Nokia Siemens' HSPA standard. 

To boost download capacity, the standard suggests either the combination of 8 channels into one data link or downloading data from multiple base stations at the same time.

Additional Funding for Lookout

Smartphone security developer Lookout raises an additional $19.5m in funding through its new investors.

Lookout's free cloud-based software (for Blackberry, Android, iOS and Symbian phones) currently has over 4m users. Lookup backs up users' data while scanning it for mobile malware. 

While still rare, mobile malware does happen-- a recent trojan disguised as an Android or Windows Mobile movie player app would send premium rate SMS messages and charge money to users' phone bills without their knowledge.

Apple To Let Users Seed Apps

Apple users will be able to share apps with each other, according to a recent patent filed by the company.

The patent describes a sytem allowing companies to make their apps shareable-- users could then send what the patent describes as an "application seed" to others. 

The "seed" means a demo or trial version-- or just an App store link. 

It also appears companies could let demo receivers share the same demo with others to generate more and more sharers (and potential purchasers).
