Durabook launches the U11l, a rugged tablet the company claims is the first powered by a 10th generation Intel Core processor, an upgrade bringing a performance boost of up to 206% over the previous model.

The U11l retains the same fanless design as previous Durabook tablets, and retains the signature quick release PCIe SSD storage drive. It also includes an embedded smart card reader, and customers can add a second smart card and RFID reader via expansion module. Such an addition allows for secure user authentication and safe collection and transfer of sensitive data and information. Construction features MIL-STD-810G and ANSI certifications, as well as an IP65 fating for temperature, shock, vibration and drop resistance. The 11.6-inch FHD display offers 1000 nits brightness and allows for finger, glove and stylus input, even in case of rain.

The company claims the battery lasts for up to 13.5 hours on a single charge, or up to 24 hours with a hi-cap battery option, ensuring consistent operation during an entire shift. The hot-swappable battery allows for five minutes of power between swaps. The SSD storage device is "military grade," and comes with the option of SATA or PCIe connectivity. It is easily removable without need to open a cover, saving time and effort. Wireless connectivity comes through an Intel dual-band Wireless AC9260 adapter and Bluetooth 5.0, while a u-blox module promises high levels of GPS accuracy.

The upgraded U11l is available now.
