HPE Reshuffles for a Post-Coronavirus World

E-mail Print PDF

A blogpost by CEO Antonio Neri details a reshuffle of the HPE organisation-- one cementing the current pivot from hardware to services, leading to what Neri describes as a more agile company for the post-coronavirus pandemic world.

HPE Resuffle

"Over recent weeks, I have evaluated our organisational structure to determine the model that will best enable our execution and transformation," Neri writes. "The time is right for an organisation where each one of our business groups, aligned to market trends and our own financial segmentation, directly reports to me."

The reshuffle has HPE split into seven business groups. The first is storage, covering primary storage, all-flash and hybrid storage, collaborative platforms, big data storage and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, under the leadership of Tom Black. Pradeep Kumar leads the Pointnext technology services group, including all advisory, professional and operational services falling under the Pointnext brand. The Compute business includes ProLiant servers (rack and tower), Synergy, Blades, OneView and Cloudline products, with Neil MacDonald at the helm.

HPE says "edge is the new frontier," leading to the Intelligent Edge group covering Aruba solutions under Keerti Melkote. Pete Ungaro leads the High Performance Computing (HPC) and Mission Critical Solutions (MCS) teams, with a portfolio including Cray, Superdome Flex, Apollo, NonStop, Integrity, Moonshot and Edgeline. The final group is GreenLake Cloud Services, a new division bringing as-a-services offerings under the GreenLake banner with Keith White as boss.

In further exec reshuffling, CTO and Hewlett Packard Labs manager Mark Potter has retired. Taking his place at Hewlett Packart Labs is Pete Ungaro, while Kumar Sreekanti takes the position of both CTO and Head of Software. The current executive committee remains in place, as do Pat Collins as head of Global Operations and CSO Heiko Meyer, all directly reporting to Neri.
