Western Digital (WD) announces an entry-level NVMe storage solution-- the IntelliFlash N5100, an affordable addition to the N-series featuring low latency response times and an enhanced IntelliFlash OS 3.10.

WD Intelliflash N5100

The N5100 offers up to 92TB of NAND flash storage using SN200 NVMe SSDs, and customers can further expand it through the addition of 2U IntelliFlash SAS modules featuring 24 SAS drive bays, allowing for hundreds of terabytes of NAND flash storage. The N-series all-flash arrays run on Intel Xeon processors, and are based on WD dual-active architecture in a 2U form factor.

IntelliFlash machines run on IntelliFlash OS 3.10, an operating system offering both block (FC, iSCSI) and file (NFS, CIFS, SMBv3) protocol support, making it compatible with software from multiple vendors. It also handles virtualisation, data protection, data reduction, inline deduplication and compression to boost performance, reliability and effective capacity. Further boosting performance is support for Strage Class Memory and NVDIMMs, although WD does not specify the kinds of SCE and NVDIMMs it currently supports.

In addition, WD launches an enhanced Enterprise Partner Program, with streamlined benefits, discounts and programs for the IntelliFlash, ActiveScale and Ultrastar brands.

The IntelliFlash N5100 should be available soon.
