Ingram Micro Buys Abbakan

Ingram Micro sets to expand its cyber security business in EMEA with the acquisition of French VAD Abbakan. Financial details of the deal, which is expected to close in Q3 2019, are not available.

A security VAD in the business for the last 15 years, Abbakan has head offices in Paris together with 7 commercial agencies in France, including offices in Lille, Lyon, Toulouse and Sophia-Antipolis. It works with 17 vendors, including Forcepoint, McAfee, F5 Networks, Kaspersky and Bitdefender, and offers value-added services of the technical support, marketing and after-sales assistance variety.

Post-acquisition Abbakan customers get access to the wider portfolio of Ingram Micro security solutions and network of experts. The distributor retains current management and team, if as part of expanded Ingram Micro operations in France.
