IDC Highlights EMEA 3D Printing Providers

E-mail Print PDF

The IDC Innovators report highlights 4 EMEA-based providers of 3D printing workflow management solutions-- 3YOURMIND, AMFG, GROW Software and LEO Lane-- all offering solutions the analyst describes as "compelling and differentiated."

3d printingRecent 3D printing developments have shown additive manufacturing (AM) technology has the potential to transform manufacturing, even as adoption of the technology has been relatively slow. This is due to companies struggling to streamline the process before moving from prototyping to serial production, bringing a growing need for solution making the adoption of 3D printing for large-scale industrial production easier. Large companies have a strong foothold in the market, but mall vendors are bringing targeted innovative solutions, which is where the IDC Innovators come into play.

3YOURMIND sells software enabling the optimisation and automation of end-to-end workflows for companies using AM, while AMFG offers a software platform facilitating moving from rapid prototyping to industrial production. It does so by allowing users to manage the entire workflow from design to finished product.

The GROW Software solution removes some of the barriers to the adoption of 3D printing, such as design IP protection, build validation and quality assurance. The final company, LEO Lane, provides a differentiating software-as-a-service (SaaS) product for 3D printing, enabling companies to ensure both manufacturing repeatability and IP protection over 3D printing files.

"The vendors profiled here bring innovative solutions to the software market for additive manufacturing production and prototyping," IDC concludes. "Their solutions help to enable greater control of the entire process, enhance traceability and security, and allow for better product quality control, speeding up production and increasing process automation for improved quality, while minimizing the need for manual labor."
