CloudOak releases its business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) appliance-- the CUBE, an appliance aimed at SMBs with 20TB of data or less powered by software from BDCR vendor Rubrik.

First unveiled back in January, CUBE makes the core of an integrated backup, disaster recovery, replication, archiving and analytics solution. It combines a locally-installed appliance with storage in leading public clouds, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Oracle Cloud.
The subscription-based offering supports both virtualised and physical environments in a scale-out architecture. Powering the data protection functionality of the CUBE is the Rubrik Air Platform, a software-based appliance. According to CloudOak, CUBE fills a gap in the market for comprehensive backup, disaster recovery and archiving solutions, as well as a more specific gap for SMB-appropriate data protection solutions.
