SolarWinds Updates Network Management Line

E-mail Print PDF

The SolarWinds network management product line gets a range of updates, including support for networks up to x4 larger than the previous generation, making it easier for admins to consolidate solutions enterprise-wise.

SolarWindsThe updates also promise more flexibility when scaling up and supporting larger datacentre networks or when networks or when sclaing out to address complex distributed networks. SolarWind points out three "breakthrough" additions, being the aforementioned x4 increase in monitoring capacity, intelligent auto-generating and contextually-aware maps (enable faster and clearer network performance visualisation) and Cisco Nexus support for Network Insight.

The refresh covers key SolarWinds products, including Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Network Configuration Manager (NCM), IP Address Manager (IPAM), NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) and VoIP & Network Quality Manager (VNQM). NPM 12.3 offers detailed visibility into virtual Port Channels (vPCs) together with superior monitoring capabilities and detailed visibility for multi-vendor environments, while NCM 7.8 brings stronger automation and control of network functions.

IPAM 4.7 automates IP requests and monitors hybrid environments with Amazon Route53 and Azure DNS support. NTA 4.44 has the new Flow Storage SQL database as foundation, with less-demanding CPU and IOPS requirements, and VNQM 4.5 adds support for SIP trunk monitoring, allowing users to manage voice quality and performance across networks using the latest VoIP technologies.

The updated SolarWinds portfolio is available by end May 2018.
