IBM and SAP set to build on their existing cloud partnership by announcing plans to integrate the IBM cloud and cognitive computing platform with the SAP S/4HANA business software suite.
The deepened partnership also involves the co-location of resources in SAP's home Walldorf, Germany and Palo Alto, California, together with the showcasing of new solutions to clients in IBM, SAP innovation centres worldwide.
The team up will initially concentrate on 6 areas-- cloud-based solutions (the expansion of current SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud services), on-premise solutions (SAP HANA on IBM Power Systems), cognitive capabilities, customer and user experience, integrated services and industry-specific road maps.
"The future of business strategy and business value will proceed from the foundational elements of this announcement-- cognitive, cloud and the design of consumer-quality experiences in every industry," Big Blue says. "We’re formalising a complementary set of capabilities to simplify and speed outcomes for clients evolving to become cognitive enterprises."
