VCE Launches Converged Solution

E-mail Print PDF

VCE, the converged infrastructure joint venture between EMC, Cisco and VMware, launches an integrated cloud solution dubbed the VCE Foundation for Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud.

VCE LogoThe converged infrastructure offering is the first from the company to feature factory-integrated VMware and EMC technologies. These include VMware NSX network virtualisation, VMware vRealize management and orchestration and EMC VIPR software-defined storage. The result is a "complete" hybrid cloud supporting both traditional and next-gen applications, at least according to VCE.

Previously VCE products only supported Application Centric Networking (ACI), the the Cisco take on SDN. The change of heart is, of course, due to Cisco selling most of its VCE stake to EMC back in October 2014, leading to EMC pulling VCE into its federation.

“VCE is continuing its next phase of growth and innovation to deliver converged infrastructure solutions that further simplify and accelerate the deployment of hybrid cloud environments," VCE says. "With this new solution, VCE is scaling its formula of simplicity and outstanding customer experience up and down the cloud infrastructure stack through an expanded portfolio of integrated solutions, taking full advantage of key software-defined data center technologies from EMC and VMware.”

The Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud ships from Q1 2015.
