NEC Projector: Name-Changing & M-Series

E-mail Print PDF

NEC Display Solutions launches a TCO-certified range of projectors into the market. The M Series succeeds the NP610-series offering outstanding performance and highly improved energy saving options. New, innovative Eco features such as the 75% AV Mute function and the world's first Auto Eco mode on projectors lower running costs significantly.

Projectors are in continuous operation during meetings, presentations and training sessions. With a lamp service life and a filter cleaning interval of up to 6000 hours plus the innovative features of the M Series, users can significantly reduce their TCO (total cost of ownership).

The new 75% AV Mute function allows the user to intuitively mute the projector via the lens cover or by simply pushing the green button on the remote control. This reduces the lamp power by 75% which decreases the overall power consumption of the projector significantly and results in an increased lamp life.

With the world's first Auto Eco mode on projectors the luminance of the lamp is automatically adjusted to match the content being presented, allowing optimum brightness and maximum energy efficiency at all times. In addition, some of the models have two Eco mode levels, with the new second level being designed specifically for whiteboard applications.

All M Series models up to 3500 ANSI lumens received TCO certification from the Swedish testing organisation TCO Development. At the same time NEC Display Solutions is introducing a new naming concept for its entire range of projectors in order to make the overall portfolio more transparent for its customers.

In order for users to be able to identify suitable products simply, NEC Display Solutions has implemented a new naming concept that will be extended to cover its entire projector portfolio. For example the designation "M260X" identifies a projector of the multi-media M Series ("M") with a brightness of 2600 ANSI lumens ("26") of the first generation ("0") with XGA resolution ("X").

The M Series projectors will be available from October 2010 except for the M420X that will be available in February 2011. The package supplied includes an IR remote control, a mini-D SUB signal cable, a power cord, a users manual on CD-ROM together with a quick setup guide. The package also contains utility software and a soft case. NEC Display Solutions offers a three-year warranty for these products, plus a warranty period of six months or 1000 operating hours for the lamp. For education customers NEC offers a free of charge 3 year/3000h lamp warranty extension upon registration.
