Juniper Security at RSA Conference

E-mail Print PDF

Juniper Networks presents enhanced security offerings at the RSA Conference 2013-- including Junos Spotlight Secure, a cloud-based global attacker intelligence service.

JuniperJunos Spotlight Secure identifies individual attackers at device level and tracks them in a global database, creating a persistent attacker device fingerprint based on over 200 unique attributes. According to Juniper such an approach provides more detailed security intelligence, with less false positives than similar services relying only on IP addresses.

Meanwhile Junos WebApp Secure (aka 2012 Juniper acquisition Mykonos) identifies and fingerprints attackers, with the database sharing attacker profiles with other subscribers to provide advanced real-time security across multiple networks.

The SRX series gateways will benefit from the Junos service, with integration extending gateway ability to block attackers identified at the security perimeter, including botnets and large scale web attacks.

Offering protection from DDoS attacks is Junos DDoS Secure, leveraging assets from Webscreen systems to deliver fully automated protection for websites and web applications at up to 40Gb/s (for high-volume attacks) and advanced "low-and-slow" application attacks.

Juniper's security solutions will make part of the company's software-defined networking (SDN) strategy, allowing the sharing of additional intelligence across network layers and quick security service deployment as part of SDN service chains.

At the RSA Confernce the company also announces an expansion of its relationship with EMC security unit RSA-- the Junos Spotlight Secure service and the RSA Live threat delivery service will feature high level intelligence sharing, with the RSA Security Analytics tool giving customers greater insight on security threats.
