The latest Panasonic Toughbook devices, the T1 and L1, promise to "address the evolving mobile needs of today’s diverse workplaces" through slimmer and tougher designs, as well as upgraded internals.

The Toughbook T1 is a 5-inch ruggedised smartphone running on Android 8.1. Aimed at retail workers, warehouse employees and transportation/logistics professionals, it features an integrated barcode reader and high-speed connectivity, allowing integration with most resource management systems and databases. It offers MIL-STD-810G and IP66/68 rated protection and "warm swappable" batteries, and ships with either wifi-only or data connectivity through P.180, the purpose-built Panasonic network.

Meanwhile the Toughbook L1 is a 7-inch rugged tablet. Like its smaller sibling, it runs on Android 8.1, sports and integrated barcode reader and meets MIL-STD-810G standards. It is also IP65/67 rated, can be field-configured for landscape or portrait use, is usable either in the hand or mounted in vehicles, and should get future connectivity and feature options through the xPak port.
