According to IDC, the global unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) market is set to reach $48.3 billion in 2023, representing a 7.1% CAGR over the 2019-2023 forecast period.
Such growth is the result of growing interest in UC&C solutions among customers across all business segments, including enteprise-size organisations. In turn, driving such interest is a combination of advances in technology, applications and deployment choices.
"Decisions are past due for many organisations that have not yet migrated their legacy voice platforms (i.e., analog, digital, TDM) to new IP telephony, VoIP, or UC&C solutions," the analyst says. "Organisations should have already planned for this fundamental shift in business communications."
IDC points out the top UC&C vendors for the forecast period-- Avaya, Cisco, Microsoft and Mitel. It also mentions five other vendors as "Major Players," namely Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Google, Huawei, NEC and Unify.
