Citrix Conferencing Hits Wearables

G2M wearableWearable device uses can now access conference calls right from their wrists, Dick Tracy-style, as Citrix updates GoToMeeting to allow joining, participation and leaving of meetings from Android Wear smartwatches.

"Take a jog while you’re taking a meeting," the company says. "Listen in on a session while rocking your baby to sleep-— no squirming into your pockets and fumbling with your phone needed." Actually, we think not. Have you actually tried holding a conversation while jogging? And what if the baby decides to start squalling, like babies tend to sometimes do?

We kind of like the final suggestion though-- "you’re going to feel like a super-cool spy." Indeed.

As well as smartwatch support GoToMeeting also gets other updates in the shape of a cleaned up UI, a Windows Recording Manager (takes care of bandwidth-heavy transcoding duties) and an Attendee Web Viewer allowing people to join meetings via browser, with no client download necessary.
