Kandao announces Kandao Meeting, an 8K 360-degree videoconferencing camera combining two high-quality fisheye lenses, eight microphone arrays and a speaker in a device customers can put in the centre of the meeting room.

The camera captures all meeting attendees at 8K resolution, and is able to automatically focus on people as they speak. To locate the speaker and pickup their gestures and facial expression the camera uses AI-enabled facial recognition and eight omnidirection microphones to pick on the sound. Remote participants on the other end get a 1080p resolution stream with closeups on the speakers, making them feel like everyone is in the same room.

As a smart conferencing camera, the Kandao Meeting was designed for three different meeting scenarios. During a discussion, the camera shows a split view of the speaker. In case of a proposal presentation, the camera switches modes to deliver an exclusive shot of the principal speaker and turns to others if necessary. The third mode shows a global view of all attendees without auto-focusing.

Kandao Meeting is compatible with Skype, Zoom, Webex and most other videoconferencing platforms with just a USB connection, without need for software for installs or upgrades. To turn off the pop-up 8K 360-degree camera, users simply need to press it down.
