VMware and Google announce the integration of the Google Cloud Platform with vCloud Air, providing enterprise customers with greater access to cloud services on the VMware hybrid cloud platform.
As a result, Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Datastore and Cloud DNS will be available to vCloud Air customers under their current service contract.
"Our collaboration will provide customers with a unique hybrid solution that combines the power and efficiencies of VMware virtualisation and the hyperscale of Google Cloud Platform," Google says. "Enterprise customers will be able to combine their VMware cloud environments with the security, scalability, and price performance of Google's public cloud, built on the same infrastructure that allows Google to return billions of search results in milliseconds."
The two companies are also looking into extending management support for Google Cloud Platform as part of the VMware vRealize Cloud Management Suite.
