Rackspace teams up with Linux developer Red Hat to present Private Cloud powered by Red Hat-- essentially the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Openstack Platform hosted on the Rackspace private cloud.

Rackspace Private Cloud Powered by Red Hat comes in a number of shapes and forms. Customers and partners can deploy it in private clouds running on either own premises hardware, the Rackspace cloud or a mixture of both. It also runs on a mix of third party public clouds.

Whichever cloud customers choose, Rackspace promises "Fanatical Support" as well as the benefits of a public cloud (with a 99.9% OpenStack API uptime guarantee) as paired with the security, control and performance of an enterprise environment.

“As the leading operator of OpenStack clouds with the most comprehensive OpenStack product portfolio in the industry, Rackspace is excited to expand our managed services and expertise to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform,” Rackspace says. “We help make OpenStack simple by eliminating the complexity and delivering it as-a-service to customers in their datacentre, a Rackspace datacentre or in a colocation facility.”

Rackspace Private Cloud powered by Red Hat is available now.
