HP announces Helion Rack-- a pre-configured, pre-tuned and pre-tested private cloud solution based on OpenStack and Cloud Foundry technologies designed to speed up customer cloud deployments.

The Helion Rack includes everything for a customer wanting to run IaaS and PaaS deployments. The ProLiant DL server hardware ships complete with storage and networking component, while on the software it features Helion OpenStack and the Cloud Foundry-based Helion Development Platform.

It is a factory-built solution, and HP staff installs it onsite. The company also offers support for onboarding cloud services, solution scaling and cloud solution operation.

"Enterprise customers are asking for private clouds that meet their security, reliability and performance requirements, while also providing the openness, flexibility and fast time-to-value they require," HP says. "HP Helion Rack offers an enterprise class private cloud solution with integrated application lifecycle management, giving organizations the simplified cloud experience they want, with the control and performance they need."

The HP Helion Rack is available from April 2015 in multiple configurationsm starting off from a system able to support 400 virtual machines.
