Managed network and cloud services provider Masergy Communications bolsters its product portfolio with the acquisition of security and network analysis developer Global DataGuard.

Financial details of the deal are not available.

“Cyber attacks are only going to become more intense and sophisticated-– it’s a new battlefield," Masergy says. " The acquisition of Global DataGuard uniquely positions Masergy to deliver solutions engineered to address these advanced persistent threats.”

The acquisition adds the Global Dataguard security and professional services portfolio to the Masergy Security-as-a-Service suite. This includes a 24/7 security control monitor, adaptive network behavioural analysis, persistent threat management and vulnerability management, as well as compliance testing and prevention technologies.

Masergy will also roll out a partner certification and referral program for DataGuard products.
