Barracuda Intros Application Delivery Controller

Security and storage solution maker Barracuda Networks announces a new Application Delivery Controller (ADC)-- an integrated single platform combining load balancing with application acceleration, control and security. 

Barracuda ADCThe Barracuda ADC carries up to x32 1GbE ports and x8 10GbE ports and secures applications against attacks at both network and application layers, including OWASP Top-10 attacks such as SQL injection, cookie tampering and session hijacking. 

"Until now, customers wishing to both secure their applications and optimise performance have faced very high costs and unnecessary complexity," the company says. "The new Barracuda ADC platform integrates advanced load balancing and application security in a single, affordable, high-performance solution to help customers efficiently and securely deliver highly available applications."

According to Dell'Oro Group the growing BYOD trend, coupled with increased applications per device, will drive "robust growth" in the 2013 ADC market. 

The Barracuda ADC is available now as either hardware or virtual appliances.
