Hitachi storage subsidiary Hitachi Vantara announces Data Protection as a Service (DPaaS), together with expanded capabilities for the Storage as a Stervice (STaaS) offering.

Both services are pre-engineered and delivered as fully managed services providing rapid deployment, consumption-based pricing and guaranteed service levels. DPaaS promising to lower risk int he deployment of data protection in new environments, and can protect data in storage from both Hitachi and 3rd parties.

Meanwhile SaaS provides end-to-end support for all data types, with object, block and file storage available. Customers can reduce unused capacity, and Hitachi Vantara offers accelerated deployment times and time to desired service levels. An "always on" team manages customer infrastructure and service catalog, with a choice of performance, data availability, retention, remote replication and RTO/RPO.

“Today’s dynamic IT environments require nimble resource allocation strategies,” the company says. “Our new storage and data protection-as-a-service offerings deliver customers more choice and flexibility, providing the keys to higher scalability, enhanced security, and greater resilience.”

Both DPaaS and STaaS are available now.
