3M to Launch 32”Multi-Touch Chassis Display

3M will demo a range of multi-touch displays based on 3M Projected Capacitive Technology (3M PCT) at CeBIT 2011. Stand demos will include an interactive 6-panel display wall, 22”and 32” multi-touch display totems and a 3-display cascading table station.

These will highlight the potential for full multi-touch technology implementation in a variety of single, multi-user and collaborative applications (including audio/visual, casino gaming, digital signage, education, media and broadcast, security, telecommunications and utilities).

Toshiba LED Brings 2D and 3D Views Together

At ISE 2011, Toshiba showed its LED wall technology (for use in either indoor or outdoor) that displays an image you can see simultaneously in conventional 2D or put on passive 3D glasses and…poof…it’s 3D.

Without special glasses, the 2D image is normal. When you wear 3D passive glasses, the image is perceived in stereoscopic 3D.

Technology was developed with Chroma3D Systems and depends upon a RGBY system where each pixel is composed of Red, Green, Blue and Yellow subpixels. The depth information comes from using the Y pixels.

World’s First 138” 3D Videowall from Hyundai

Hyundai IT demonstrated its full line-up of display solutions at ISE, including what the company describes as “the world’s first 3D videowall with a diagonal of 138 inches”. With nine (3 x 3) stereoscopic 3D displays (Hyundai’s new S468FL) and features an inter-screen gap of only 7.3mm, two products side-by side.

Orion Launches Plasma Video Wall for Rental

At ISE for the first time, “the grandfather of videowall manufacturers” Orion debuted its 7th-generation Infinite Plasma OPM-4260 at ISE 2011. The 42” display offers increased brightness and contrast and a smaller seam gap over the previous generation, less than 2mm according to the company.

One year after the EMEA launch of Christie MicroTiles at last ISE, these stackable digital display tiles have been named Most InAVative Digital Signage Product in the award ceremony at ISE 2011.
