Digital Signage Expo (DSE) may not have set an all-time attendance record this year, but it did deliver the highest buyer attendance (by percentage) in its 15 year show history-- -93.3% of total attendance were end-users, system integrators and advertising/brand executives.

End-users alone accounted for nearly 45% of the audience, a higher percentage than 2017.

Verified attendance was 4032--on par with DSE’s attendance performance over the past five years. (With one exception, 2017. In 2017 the show was fortunate enough to have co-locations with three other events-- GlobalShop, Cinemacon and Pizza Marketplace)-- which gave DSE a significant one-year attendance boost. (And probably much better pizza for lunch…)

Christie expands the Extreme Series high-performance LCD display lineup with the FHD493-XE-- a 49-inch display with an extremely narrow combined bezel width of just 1.8mm.

Designed for 24/7 applications, the FHD493-XE offers panel matching and Christie Phoenix EP compatibility. Panel matching for colour and brightness means each panel ships pre-calibrated, and when used in video wall applications they stay on the same colour-scale. Integrated electronics support video wall scaling up to a 10x10 configuration, and 4K multi-stream transport across up to 4 panels is also built-in.

ErgoMounts expands the Infinity Video Wall series with a free standing floor base version-- the Infinity TV Floor Stand, able to support both VESA and non-VESA compliant screens.

Built out of light-weight aluminium components, the stand can be assembled in minutes and supports displays with interfaces up to 600 x 400mm and weighing up to 70kg. A heavy duty steel base eliminates the need to bolt to the floor, and included adjustable leveling feet support the stand on uneven surfaces.

Stratacache buys Montréal-based X2O Media from Barco, with plans to provide X20 with an enhanced focus and new growth opportunities. The financial details of the deal are not available.

“The decision to divest X2O Media comes after a careful evaluation of its profitability and growth opportunities,” Barco says. “As digital signage is no longer a strategic focus for Barco, we are convinced that selling X2O to a major player like Stratacache will provide the company with the focus and contacts it needs to reach the next level of scale and success.”

Barco acquired X2O back in 2014, when it became part of the Barco Enterprise division working on meeting and control room solutions. Over the years X2O secured a number of top tier customers, including John Deere, Verizon, FoxNews and Accenture. X2O should continue managing all current customer agreements to ensure continued support and service.
