Arrow and Nutanix Extend Collaboration

Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) extends its contract with hyper-converged solutions provider Nutanix-- one leading to distribution agreements with Nutanix in France and Benelux.

The deal also involves the strengthening of existing collaborations in Spain, Portugal and Scandinavia.

“Converged and hyper-converged solutions have fundamentally changed the way that the modern data centre is designed, offering scalable platforms for the demands driven in terms of scalability, and management"  Arrow ECS says. "They combine sophisticated compute, storage and software layers resulting in much greater efficiency. Nutanix is a key player in this market and we look forward expanding our collaboration.”

OKI Europe Brings Together EMEA Operations

OKI Europe has plans to create an "agile, efficient and highly responsive operation"-- and to do so it is bringing together all EMEA operations (except Russia) under one legal entity.

As the distributor puts it, a single structure enables more agility and a stronger relationship with both channel and end customers. The backing of a larger organisation also offers more stability and credibility (as opposed to the current independent local companies), more efficient back office processes and pan-EMEA initiatives such as product launches, marketing campaigns and dealer incentives.

The sale of physical products (something with a SKU number) and some horizontal-based consumption based services (mainly IaaS) will be dominated by a small number of mega channels. In this blog I will deal with why this is going to happen, what the future will look like and the implications for us all.

Let’s begin with “Why?”

As I wrote in an earlier blog, we as individual consumers are increasingly using B2C digital sales channels over traditional consumer channels. Through advanced analytics, B2C digital sales channels know what and who we like or not, who we are influenced by, what we want to buy, how price sensitive we are etc. As B2B customers, many of us also want this hyper-personalized customer experience in the B2B buying process. Most business customers prefer to do their own research using search, social media, chat, blogs etc.
