BenQ Launches 4K Collaboration Boards

BenQ adds to its Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) lineup with the RP654K, RP704K and RP750K, all featuring native 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution LCD flat panels and 20-point touch capability.

As one might work out from the naming, the RP654K is the 65-inch option, RP704K is 70-inch and RP750K is 75-inch. All include a pen tray and promise fast, smooth response, even with multiple users. Input is similar to tablets or smartphones, with IR technology via either the pen or touch gestures to zoom, click and rotate objects.

The tempered glass over the screen is covered with a bacteria-resistant nano-silver coating to reduce the spread of germs. Eye-Care features include anti-glare glass to minimise light reflections and improve readability, as well as low blue light and ZeroFlicker backlight technologies to reduce eye fatigue.

NEC Presents Ultra-Wide MultiSync EX341R

NEC Display Solutions announces the MultiSync EX341R-- a 34-inch curved monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio designed to provide an "immersive" desktop experience.

Aimed mainly at commercial clients, the EX341R features a 3440 x 1440 resolution SVA panel with an 1800R curvature and bezels just 1.55mm thin on 3 sides. It also carries ControlSync technology to simplify multi-monitor configurations when combined with DisplayPort daisy-chain functionality, as well as a picture-by-picture mode to replace existing monitors.

Another interesting addition is a human presence sensor able to turn the display off when the user leaves the workstation. Low Blue Light Content and Flicker-Free certification from TÜV Rheinland promise to reduce eye strain, while SpectraViewII software (available either separately or as a bundle) ensures uniform and accurate colours.

Sharp Adds Aquos Board Interactive Displays

Sharp announces the PN-C series Aquos Board interactive display systems-- the 80-inch PN-C805B and 70-inch PN-C705B, both aimed at businesses and schools.

Both models recognise up to 10 touch points with 4-person simultaneous use, up from the 6 touch points and 2-person use offered by the previous PN-C series. The new models use direct bonding technology for a more ergonomic touch and feel, as well as a user experience as close to pen on paper as possible. This is due to the protective glass being bonded directly to the LCD panel without air gaps, minimising parallax difference.

Other intuitive features include the placement of the power on/off and input switching, backlight and freeze controls to the front bezel. A freeze frame function allows users to capture a freeze frame from a video to enable on-screen annotation, and customers can connect webcams at multiple locations for more flexible videoconferencing.
