The world market for video surveillance equipment will grow by more than 12% in 2012, says IMS. But that’s no thanks to Europe which is noted as the “biggest drag” on the world market.
The World Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment – 2012 Edition puts China-based Hikvision in the top spot by sales revenue in 2011 for CCTV and video surveillance equipment.
According to this report, the top five companies by sales revenues in 2011 are:
- Hikvision
- Panasonic System Networks (PSN)
- Axis Communications
- Bosch Security Systems
- Samsung Techwin
This is an improvement from last year’s 4th place standing for Hikvision.
Additionally, for the 3rd consecutive year, according to IMS Research, Hikvision again remains the No.1 worldwide supplier of DVR products. While in the security camera category, Hikvision is now in the No. 4 global manufacturer position for all surveillance cameras (including both IP-based and analog manufacturers).
