Oracle Adds to IoT Cloud Software

E-mail Print PDF

Oracle expands its Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio with four cloud solutions allowing enterprises to manage equipment and other assets, factories and other plants, commercial fleets and employee movement.

Oracle IoT CloudAccording to the company, organisations with the ability to integrate device data into business processes and applications gain "critical predictive insights" and drive cost-effective actions, allowing them to deliver innovative services faster and with less risk to customers.

“The world is becoming ever-more digital and IoT is the next step on that journey—delivering better customer experiences and helping organisations achieve a competitive advantage," Oracle claims. “Oracle IoT Applications enable businesses to leverage connected devices and equipment to modernize the digital supply chain.”

The four cloud solutions integrate with Oracle Supply Chain Management (SCM) cloud applications to make IoT signals actionable. IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud monitors assets, utilisation, availability and data from connected sensors and creates incidents in the SCM, ERP or Service Cloud backends to automate workflows. IoT Connected Worker Cloud tracks employees, supporting safety, service and regulatory compliance initiatives.

IoT Fleet Monitoring Cloud monitors position and progress of passenger, service and delivery vehicle and drive behaviour, while IoT Production Monitoring Cloud keeps track of production equipment to assess and predict manufacturing issues. All applications are built on the Oracle IoT and Big Data clouds, and integrate with on-premises software as well as the SCM and Service clouds.
