NTT Upgrades Enterprise Cloud

E-mail Print PDF

NTT Communications announces a revamp of its Enterprise Cloud-- one the Japanese company hopes will help it get more global customers with hybrid cloud capabilities, vendor interoperability and advanced networking.

NTTNTT Enterprise Cloud used to run exclusively on VMware, but now it uses OpenStack for the public cloud infastructure layer. Platform-as-a-Service comes through Cloud Foundry.

Offerings include a hosted private cloud featuring dedicated bare-metal servers with the automation, pay-as-you-go flexibility and options of a multi-hypervisor environment (including VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V), an OpenStack-based enterprise-class multi-tenant cloud and agile development via Cloud Foundry PaaS software.

SDN connects the multi-tenant cloud and hosted private cloud at Layer 2, allowing customers to configure network components (virtual server, bare-metal server, firewall, load balancer) running on an on-premises environment in the same network segment.

In addition NTT offers a CMP for the management and unified control of both Enterprise Cloud and 3rd party clouds, include AWS and Microsoft Azure.

NTT Enterprise Cloud is available now in Japan, with a European rollout to follow later during 2016.
