E-mail Print PDF

Fixstars launches what it claims is the biggest SSD in the world-- the 13TB capacity SSD-13000M, together with the 10TB SSD-10000M, both designed for high performance applications.

Fixstars SSDThe two drives feature a proprietary SSD controller allowing for read speeds of up to 540MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 520MB/s, making them ideal for object storage, streaming content distribution, CG/VGX production, 4K/8K video processing and other use cases demanding steady sequential access.

Storage comes through Toshiba 15nm MLC flash, and a SATA 6Gbps interface handles connectivity.

"Continuing the development of the world's highest capacity SSD product line, we are pleased to take capacity one step further and present the SSD-13000M," the company says. "The Fixstars SSD series has been highly regarded for their distinct reliability on steady read/write performance that lasts over time. Having met user expectations for higher capacities, Fixstars will continue to innovate and provide unique storage solutions to its customers."
