Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) presents a first all-flash storage array family, part of its "flash first" solution strategy-- the VSP F series, designed to make use of the HDS-built FMD DC2 flash modules.

HDS flashThe VSP F series consists of the  VSP F400, F600 and F800. HDS promises performance reaching up to 1.4 million IOPS, as well as latencies less than 1ms (even at maximum scale), built-in penalty-free inline compression technology and "the industry's only" 100% data availability guarantee.

Effective storage capacity ranges from 12.8TB to 448TB (raw range 14-256TB), with the FMD DC2 modules available in sizes of up to 6.4TB. HDS says it also offers FMD DC2 flash modules as upgrades for VSP G series hybrid storage arrays.

"With the best flash solutions for solving today's IT infrastructure needs and a clear capability to help design flash for use cases of the future, Hitachi is a partner you need on this journey," HDS says.
