Dell Presents Campus, Datacentre Networking

E-mail Print PDF

Dell announces networking products aimed at campuses and datacentres-- the C9010 Network Director switch and companion C1048P rapid access node, and the S6100-ON modular in-rack switch.

Dell campus switchThe C9010 Network Director is based on the new Dell campus network architecture. It is a multi-rate capable modular switch scalable for up to 4000 virtual ports, with support for 10 and 40GbE and a future tool-free upgrade to 100GbE.

The companion C1048P rapid access node extends the capabilities of the C9010 with enhanced power over ethernet (PoE), as well as user access and connectivity. Users can deploy it in either stand-alone or stacked configurations, and can add it at any time to the new architecture.

Meanwhile the S6100-N multi-rate modular in-rack switch features chassis-level modularity and open networking. Multiple expansion modules allow deployment in various combinations of port speeds ranging from 10-100Gbe, with both QSFP28 and CXP port choices.

Dell says it is ideal for virtualisation, cloud and big data analytics environments.

The C9010 and C1048P are available from October 2015, and the C6100-ON ships from Q1 2016.
