Arista Networks presents CloudVision-- a cloud networking workload orchestration and workflow automation solution the company says features a different approach from the software-defined networking (SDN) Cisco offers.
As the company puts it, CloudVision provides a single point of integration for Arista switches. It is controller agonistic, with using open APIs such as OVSDB, JSON and OpenStack plugins for compatible with with SDN controllers from partners including HP, Microsoft, VMware, Red Hat and Dell.
This is unlike Cisco's Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), where customers have to stick with Cisco controllers and hardware.
Built on top of Arista EOS, CloudVision includes programmable interfaces, publish-subscribe state separation, resilient fault containment and self-healing attributes, and extends the same architectural approach across the network for state, topology, monitoring and visibility.
The software also features workflow automation for zero touch provisioning, configuration management, and network upgrades and rollbacks, as well as a real-time telemetry and analeptics. A compliance keyboard provides security, audit and patch management.
Arista CloudVision is available now as a software subscription.
