European Partners Join Intercloud

Six European cloud providers-- UK-based Skyscape and Iland, Germany's FIT, Spanish Telefonica, Telecom Italia and Bosnia and Herzegovina's QSS-- join Intercloud, the Cisco global interconnected cloud network.

Cisco IntercloudThe companies join 7 other companies (QTS, Viawest, Bezea, Nantian, Trolia, CCI Systems and CTC) as the latest Intercloud members, bringing the total number of partners to 60, with 350 datacentres spanning 50 countries.

"This demonstrates not only Cisco's continued commitment to a partner-centric model, but also increases opportunities for our partners to bring Intercloud to life for your own customers," Cisco says. "When it comes to the world of Intercloud, it really does take an ecosystem. A single vendor with limited options... is no match for a robust and expanding network-centric partner ecosystem providing vast choices and data sovereignty to customers."

In addition Cisco extends its cloud and datacentre relationship with Microsoft through Cisco Cloud Architecture for the Microsoft Cloud Platform-- a marriage of Windows Azure and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) enabling cloud providers to deliver services (including network services, disaster recovery, big data and enterprise application services) at DevOps speeds.

It also features the integration of Microsoft System Centre 2012 R2 with the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) Manager.

The first Cisco Cloud Architecture for the Microsoft Cloud Platform reference architecture should be published in April 2015.
