Pure Storage Intros Cisco-Powered Flash

E-mail Print PDF

Pure Storage joins Cisco to announce FlashStack CI-- a converged infrastructure (CI) solution lineup featuring Pure 400 series arrays, Cisco UCS Blade Servers, Nexus switches and VMware vSphere and Horizon 6.

Pure StorageThe result, at least according to the company, creates "turnkey, highly-performant and efficient flash-powered infrastructure stacks that optimise virtual server (VSI) and virtual desktop (VDI) deployments at scale," through a comprehensive reference architecture. In other words, it is a competitor to CI offerings from other vendors, such as VCE Vblocks, EMC's VSPEX and NetApp's FlexPods, all similarly powered by Cisco UCS servers and networking.

Differentiating the FlashStack CI system is scalability ranging "hundreds" of desktops up to 3000 in one standard rack, with the promise of "better than desktop" sub-millisecond response times.

“Delivering absolute simplicity and the best possible storage experience is core to our vision, so developing converged infrastructure solutions that deliver on that promise is an important step forward,” Pure Storage says. “Together with our trusted FlashStack Authorized Support Partners, we are eliminating the adoption barriers of all-flash VSI and VDI infrastructure for our mutual customers and accelerating ROI.”

FlashStack CI reference architectures are available now, and PureStorage is currently looking for FlashStack APS partners.
