According to Infonetics Research the global off-premises cloud services market will reach over $200 billion by 2018, with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) making around 40% of all revenues throughout the forecast period.
The analyst also confirms the the biggest companies make the cloud services ruling body, as Google is the market share leader in CaaS and PaaS, IBM is top in SaaS and Amazon leads IaaS.
Perhaps predictably N. America leads in geographical off-premises cloud services, at least until 2018.
“We continue to see new tools to automate data centers and technology for developers appear in the market, driving innovation around CaaS and PaaS, the revenue growth engines for off-premises cloud services,” Infonetics notes. "The move to hybrid cloud architectures fuels the adoption of CaaS as enterprises migrate their on-premises data centers to a cloud architecture, where servers, storage, and networks are virtualized and applications are automatically deployed by data center orchestration software.”
